Shopping in Saint Jean de Luz
The shops and boutiques in the year-round resort of Saint-Jean-de-Luz are open not just from Monday to Saturday but also on Sundays and bank holidays!
What more incentive could you possibly need to go shopping in a listed historic town by the beach?
Less than 50m from the beach, the town’s boutiques enjoy a perfect location in the centre of the old town, enabling visitors to combine the pleasures of shopping with a relaxing stroll.
Pedestrianised streets such as rue Gambetta, rue Loquin, rue de la République and rue Garat are lined by a choice of contemporary and more traditional shops - perfect for window shopping and full of tempting souvenirs.
The town’s covered market (Les Halles), on boulevard Victor Hugo, sells a wide range of local products every morning throughout the year. An outdoor food market, made up of local producers, is also held on Tuesday and Friday mornings (as well as Saturday mornings in July and August) in the area around Les Halles.
