Water quality

The Intercommunal union of Saint-Jean-de-Luz/Ciboure takes samples of bathing water every morning (before 9.00) from all beaches in the commune. The results of analyses are available the following morning at approx. 8.00.
La Lyonnaise des Eaux checks all critical points on the network (heading up stations for waste water, storm overflows...). La Lyonnaise des Eaux transmits all data to the town hall. If any malfunction arises, the Mayor or a representative will decide if it is necessary to close the beaches.
The DDASS will also take one sample per week. Results of analyses are transmitted to the town hall 3 days later. Official analyses are displayed in the town hall as well as at the Beach life guard station.
