Journée médiévale au Château d'Urtubie : découverte d'un camp militaire

Members of the Briscous-based association "Les sentinelles de la Guivre" will be recreating a medieval military camp, giving visitors an insight into how the army was organized in the Middle Ages.
A weapons rack will be on display, allowing visitors to get up close and personal, ask questions, weigh and try on parts of armor.
Introduction to swordplay.
For children, a small arena will allow them to compete with foam swords, or to train against a quintaine (training dummy).
A great family day out, with the possibility of a picnic in the park after the visit to the château, the oldest part of which dates back to 1341. Departures at 10.30 and 11.30 a.m., and 2.30 and 3.30 p.m. in the afternoon. Places are limited.
